Black Diamond

“Hum kaale hai toh kya hua Dilwale hai” Translation – Doesn’t matter if I am dark. I still have a heart We all love colors. but to make a judgement based on the color that you were born with is nothing short of hypocrisy. Does skin color change the fact that you are a human? It is nothing short of cruelty to make someone feel inferior and unworthy based on skin tone. India is booming with this kind of peddling of ideas where only a fair person is truly considered as beautiful, worthy of getting a good prospect in marriage and … Continue reading Black Diamond

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “FAQ.” So I was traveling, like always, this weekend. You will be witnessing the travelogue soon enough, but until then I will narrate a part of the journey to you that was not only surprising, but also candid and refreshing. Faring a day in night shift

That’s the only time when I can not write anything at that time.  So what do I do when I am not writing?  I dream about my travelogues. I plan my dream trips. My diary has filled up. I think I will start a wall map.  … Continue reading When you take over

Letter to my brother

Hey kiddo You were a wee little thing when we first brought you home. Like always, you did the unexpected and decided to enter the world on the day when we least expected you. Thank Goodness we didn’t leave the hospital when you decided to express your impatience of being confined in the comfort of mom’s womb. I have never been a patient person, and your late arrival definitely tested that.  I remember the first time I held you. Such a tiny little thing and how you tested out your lungs. I remember how worried I was when I saw … Continue reading Letter to my brother
