Dr. Kristin Alberghetti understands two things – puzzles and human bodies. That’s why she loves her job as the M.E. But cold-case playboy detective Malloy Cavanaugh has thrown her world into a loop. He may infuriate her, but investigating a recently excavated mass grave might open a side of him that she never expected.
I was definitely expecting serial killers when I opted for a Harlequin book. The surprise of murder and mayhem definitely adds something extra to a romantic book.
While the plot was well thoughout, the climax felt a bit flat for me. I know that cold cases often tend to have such a similar conclusion, but I was still hoping for a more dramatic endig considering the dramatic pairing of the characters and a dramatic opening of the plot. The subtlety which the Cavanaugh clan was introduced through the plot definitely helps in understanding that there is a series waiting to explore. The characters are definitely entertaining and their potrayal is rich with right amount of chemistry, romance and professionalism.
There are certain evident formating errors that needs to be rectified, but otherwise the narrative style is smooth and easy to follow. There is nothin. Remarkable to analyse when it comes to the cover image and the title; both are pretty straightforward.
Definitely an interesting read, though I wouldn’t sit and recommend and vouch for it. This is more like one of those books that you get nudged into.
