One-hour stand with her dream guy left Helen Murphy heart broken, disappointed and humiliated. Imagine her surprise when a year later, her dream guy aka Mayor Wes Ramirez comes back in her life with the sole intention of winning her back. What could be the point right? It’s not like they are in love or anything!!

Even though this is a typical happily-ever-after book, the components of romance, chemistry and humor were well balanced throughout the entirety of the plot without and slip in focus. Not only the story had a smooth flow, thanks to simple and fluent narration, but also the character development of the lead characters and the plot were in sync together. With such a well balanced book, one does expect some kind of continuity when you note multiple secondary characters who share such a amiable and yet tight bond with the main characters.

The title resonates the main idea behind the plot and hence is completely justified, though one can not gather such an information simply by reading the description that has been provided. The sweetness of the cover image does contradict the picture that comes with the word ‘Mayday’. But then it does reflect the sweet romance that Wes and Helen share.

My opinion: A perfect definition of quick and yet enjoyable read.

My rating: 3.5 out of 5
